Description

Born under a glacier, the Gorges du Pont du Diable are located in the Vallée d'Aulps and are crossed by the Dranse de Morzine. The visit is on foot (120 m ascent) to discover the history of the Pont du Diable, some 10,000 years old.
The gorges are the result of a slow process of erosion that began thousands of years ago under a glacier... Fact sheets explain how the gorges were formed, and tell you all about the legend of the Devil's Bridge! The tour continues in the gorge, in complete safety, on fixed footbridges built above the river. A new platform has been installed in the gorge: "le Pas du diable", a glass structure perched over 50m above the Dranse de Morzine. For school groups and children's groups, guided tours are accompanied by a guide who adapts his or her talk to the age of the children, or they can be self-guided. Children's groups are encouraged to observe erosion phenomena (giant potholes, etc.) and question their origins. Our site is accessible to all, and perfectly suited to school and children's group visits. Once you've collected your tickets from the ticket office, you'll need to cross the beech wood forest (one of the oldest in the region) to reach the Gorges.
