A very easy walk in the heart of the forest and pastures, ideal for a family picnic.
Although seemingly quiet, the Herpettaz woods are very active, with agropastoralism and forestry.
The many logging roads are used to bring the wood down to the valley floor. It is then transformed into firewood and lumber for joinery and carpentry.
From the parking lot, take the forest track for about 20 metres (intersection with the picnic tables). From here, take the forest track on your right towards Herpettaz.
Follow this track through Les Granges Billoud until you reach the hamlet of L'Herpettaz (1).
At the hamlet, take the track on your left, which climbs
along the hedges.
Climb for about 20 minutes to reach the top of the Herpettaz pasture (2).
Then turn left onto the "Balcons du Léman" long-distance footpath (towards Saxel).
Follow this path to the next intersection (3).
At this point, stay on the GR. At the next junction (point 1148) (4), take the downhill path on your left, for about 5 minutes. You'll arrive
the forest track at Platélaz.
Follow the track down to the starting point.
